Dr. Vasco M. Tanner (1892-1989) established the zoology and entomology department at BYU. Dr. Vasco M. Tanner was born 29 October 1892 in Payson, Utah to John Myron and Lois Ann Stevens Tanner. He married Annie Atkin 5 June 1917 in St. George, Washington, Utah.
